And then maybe start assigning personality and direction to characters based upon what music feels right?
I was actually doing something else- I put a playlist on random and then worked on some old WIPs for the duration of one song each.

Seth has been very strongly suggesting a bit of Dishonored fanart for the last several days. He actually was angling for an image of maybe Cecelia or Samuel, his favorite characters, but I started with Corvo’s face and worked out from there (hence the total lack of composition) and it landed with just Corvo and Emily. Eh. Let’s see where it goes, hmm?
Anyone wanna see what I’m doodling tonight?
First one is with the sketch on top. Second is minus sketch.
I kinda wanted to do a Self Portrait. But, like, something that would make me feel good about myself? I’ve been relatively happy with myself recently, and I thought I deserved the Soft Focus Treatment, I guess.
But this looks nothing like me. First of all, in real life my hair is parted on the other side (this is a comp camera pic). Second of all, I am not a model.
I meant to finish this little Noir portrait of Tony Stark today, but I had to stop and finish the Thank You cards from the wedding. So, here’s a little sketch to prove that I haven’t left this project behind.
I am slowing down on this for tonight, but I wanted to add a screenshot of my preliminary shading on the clothes. Okay, I’m out….
…for now.
More (grudging) progress on this Soldier Token piece.
I say “grudging” because I am getting no joy from this thing that I’m doing supposedly for fun. I feel like the problem here is that it got too… good? And now I’m endlessly trying to live up to it.
And I always do that- and then I abandon the project, and as a result I never finish the stuff I’m really proud of.
So I’m trying really hard to keep going on this one.
Who likes WIPs?
Yeah, me neither. But I am enjoying messing with this idea, and I thought I’d share my progress up to a (very, very rough) color treatment.
It’s meant to be Jonathan Strange, walking through a portrait. The blue in the background is not working very well. And the bright arcane circles are just standing in for what I think should be a golden compass symbol. I think?
Any suggestions, please speak up.
And hey- that’s my fiance posing for me. He’s a fox.
Okay, so I always wanted the armor to be, like, cream-colored leather. And it wasn’t cream-colored. And it didn’t (and still doesn’t, really) look like leather. And I didn’t notice.
wtf
How do I make it look like leather. Advice, please. Please.
Thanks.
