Just a little 1.5 hour doodle for Halloween. I never do Halloween stuff- it’s not my favorite holiday- but I know a lot of people who love it, so I made a concerted effort to get in the spirit of the season this year.
I’m calling this baby done. I made some color adjustments, painted the living god out of the shadows, and toyed for an hour with creating the right amount of darkness and space.
It’s time to call it complete and start obsessing over the Next Thing.
Thanks to ffssynchronize for solving a rather frustrating problem that I ran into right at the end with a graceful, simple fix.
I hate the background. I wanted them to be backed up against a wall, but this looks… fake? By boyfriend helpfully pointed out that they look like they are standing in front of a photographer’s pull-down background.
So I think I should change it. Any suggestions? I’m not gonna change the rather sunny, rather warm lighting, so follow in that vein.
More (grudging) progress on this Soldier Token piece.
I say “grudging” because I am getting no joy from this thing that I’m doing supposedly for fun. I feel like the problem here is that it got too… good? And now I’m endlessly trying to live up to it.
And I always do that- and then I abandon the project, and as a result I never finish the stuff I’m really proud of.
So I’m trying really hard to keep going on this one.
Okay, so I always wanted the armor to be, like, cream-colored leather. And it wasn’t cream-colored. And it didn’t (and still doesn’t, really) look like leather. And I didn’t notice.
wtf
How do I make it look like leather. Advice, please. Please.
Thanks.
This is what I’m working on.
It’s a magic token. Not an official one, just something I’m doing for fun.
Don’t judge me, bitch.
I did this for the Arthur Lives! RPG by Vigilance Press. PCs are reincarnations of figures from Arthurian Myth and they run around trying to recognize themselves and face off against their old enemies and stuff.
It’s groovy, and I was really thrilled to be asked to join in the project.
So this is Gawaine and the Green Knight. Yeah.
